How to Turn Blog Posts into Audio

High quality content is becoming more and more important for all types of online businesses.  In addition to giving Google and the other search engines the text they need to crawl to find keywords, it also gives visitors a reason to stay on your site.  Marketers are spending a larger portion of their marketing budget on content creation than ever before, so it is important to get as much benefit out of it as possible.

One great way to turn a single blog post into a multi-media traffic generating tool is by converting the text which was written into a great audio product as well as a video to be shared.  This might sound like a lot of work, but it is actually quite a bit easier than most people think.  It can also be easily (and inexpensively) outsourced to freelancers who can have blog posts turned into high-quality audio or video very quickly.  They can even post the media files on YouTube and other sites to start bringing in visitors.

Text to Audio

Turning a great blog post into an audio file is extremely simple.  All you’ll need is a decent microphone (this often comes included with laptops and other PCs) and audio recording and editing software.  Once you’ve got everything set-up, simply turn on the recording and read the blog post out loud.  Try to give it some personality, but don’t overdo it.  If you make a mistake, simply wait a few seconds and re-read that section again.  The mistake can be edited out later.

Once the recording is completed, go through and edit out any mistakes and safe the file.  You can upload the audio file to your web server and link to it from the blog post itself so those with visual impairments can download it.  There are also many sites which allow audio files to be shared for free, and you can include a link back to the original post.  This will not only generate direct traffic, but it is also a great link to benefit SEO.

If you choose to outsource this process you can hire an individual who has a ‘radio-friendly’ voice to do a great reading of the post.  They will often offer to upload the file to a variety of sites for you as well.  This is surprisingly affordable, and once you find the right voice-actor it involves almost no additional work on your part.

Text to Video

While slightly more difficult than text to audio, this is still surprisingly easy and it can provide your site with a lot of great benefits.  The easiest way to turn your blog post into a video is to put it into an animated slide-show.  This can be done either by selecting key points from the content and using them in the show, or simply creating a slide which will contain one or two sentences from the content and then having it slide through.

Once the slide show is created, record yourself reading each slide as it passes by.  Any video editing software will allow you to combine the slideshow and audio into one file which can then be uploaded to YouTube and dozens of other great video sharing sites.

Of course, this can also be outsourced to a third party to take care of for you.  You can also have the audio file sent to audio-sharing sites and the video shared on video sharing sites for maximum exposure.  This is a great way to get high-quality links as well as a steady stream of targeted traffic from your content.

Give it a try and see just how much it can benefit you!
