Why are Email Marketers are Failing to Plan for AI?

The latest report from Econsultancy has been released and looks at the current state of email marketing, and how people are using it. The marketers who participated in the survey reported that email is still the most effective option for generating return on investment. 74% of them commented that it is either ‘good’ or ‘excellent.’ While this is still very positive, it is down slightly from the previous year.

While email marketing is one of the oldest forms of digital marketing, it is still important to make sure you are keeping up with the latest trends and technologies.

For example, while 53% of respondants said that they agree that automation is key when it comes to this channel, only 17% of them said that they are looking into AI technologies as an option.

When asked how they will be innovating over the year, 60% said they will be using more creative behavioural triggers. 55% said they would be using more dynamic elements such as GIFs, video, and more. 53% said they will be using some type of automation to help grow communication with users, and 39% said they would be taking steps to better optimize the messages for mobile.
