Facebook Ad Retargeting Up 31% YOY

Ad retargeting has been shown to be one of the most effective ways to bring customers back to a site to make a purchase that they didn’t make the first time they were on the site.  When it comes to Facebook ads, retargeting is growing quite rapidly.  In fact, according to a new study, the average spend per advertiser for retargeting on Facebook is up over 31% year over year.  This is from a study performed by AdRoll.

The bulk of the increased spend is coming from B2B companies where the increase shot up by 61%.  This is a huge number and really shows just how much emphasis businesses are putting on this type of marketing.

While the study was looking at Facebook ad retargeting, it is an indication of a wider trend.  Ad retargeting is becoming popular across the web because it is so effective.

Another thing that has helped to push the added spend on Facebook is that the Inventory for mobile retargeting ads.  Allowing mobile devices to use the retargeting technologies greatly expanded the inventory and also helped make the ads more effective overall.

The study looked at over 20,000 advertisers across 55 different campaigns that totaled 37 billion global impressions making this a very in depth look at the industry and the way it is growing and changing.
