A new tool has been announced by White Ops that is said to help fight against online fraud. White Ops is a well known leader in the battle against online fraud and browser automation and this new tool expands their already impressive portfolio of high quality tools for digital marketers. This latest edition is being called, “White Ops MediaGuard.”
This will allow publishers; e-commerce platforms, ad tech users and many others identify and eliminate a wide range of different fraudulent activity in a proactive way. Using real time information, the users will be able to ensure the highest quality traffic they need.
The goal of this tool is to help marketers increase their confidence that the traffic they are getting through ads and other sources is actually human traffic. In addition to being human, it will help ensure that the ads are actually seen rather than just being pushed to the bottom of a page or popped up in a window that will never have human eyes on it.
Developing this new tool was done in part because of the results of a 2014 study by White Ops where they predicted that at least $6.3 Billion in losses to the digital ad industry thanks to bot traffic. Giving marketers the ability to reduce or eliminate the risk of this type of fraud is clearly an important priority for the company.
Michael Tiffany, the CEO and co-founder of White Ops commented on this launch saying, “The White Ops bot fraud study marked a watershed moment in the industry, and represented an ultimatum to fraudsters that the battle was coming to them. We provided the market with the visibility and the tools to turn the tables, and affect the financial foundation on which criminals have built their attacks against advertisers. The White Ops technology and services portfolio enables an unprecedented ability for providers to work together to identify and weed out fraud that existed in their own networks and among their partners.”
He went on to say, “With MediaGuard, White Ops has advanced the state-of-the-art again, giving the advertising ecosystem a tool to amplify fraud visibility, but also catch bots in the act and kill them on sight – before they can affect the network. Transparency has always been a powerful tool.”
MediaGuard is available now and can work on its own or as an additional layer of fraud protection on top of White Ops existing FraudSensor products.
