Mobile to Account for Over 50% of Digital Ad Spend in 2016

A new report was recently released from eMarketer, and there is some very good news for any digital marketers who harness the power of mobile ads.  In 2016, this vertical is expected to pass two very significant milestones.  First, there will be over $100 billion in mobile ad spend for the first time ever.  Second, and perhaps more importantly, mobile ad spend will account for over 50% of the total digital marketing budget for the first time ever.

This is a major move, especially since less than a decade ago there really won’t any such thing as mobile advertising.  The report noted that from 2013 to 2016 the mobile advertising market grew by more than 430%, and next year along it is expected to continue to grow.

The growth is great for many people, but it is making it difficult for others to keep up.  This constantly expanding industry is plagued with issues like ad fraud, poor quality ads, low conversion rates and more.  Of course, this is in addition to some extremely effective marketing opportunities.

For any marketer today, the most important thing they can do is learn to properly use mobile marketing to improve conversions for themselves or their clients.  Without this, their future in digital advertising will be extremely limited.
