Marketing Developer Partners Program Launched by Pinterest

Pinterest is taking the next step in making their platform friendlier to marketers.  They have launched a new program called the “marketing Developer Partners” program and provided a publishing API to ten social media management companies so far.  The idea is to give businesses more tools and services, which can help them use the power and popularity of Pinterest to get their products in front of potential customers.

It is the first official API designed specifically for marketing on Pinterest.  Other social media companies such as Facebook and Twitter have long been using these types of programs to help make life easier for marketers who want to use their system.

To start with, Pinterest is only offering this system to ten brands, which are, Tailwind, Sprinklr, Spredfast, Shoutlet, Percolate, Newscred, Expion, Curalate, Buffer and Ahalogy.  They will have access to the API and more to help manage their accounts and services.

According to Jyri Kidwell, who is the head of Marketing Developer Partnerships at Pinterest, “These platforms help businesses scale and optimize their presence in marketing.  So now we want them to be able to scale and optimize their marketing on Pinterest.”  This quote was provided to Marketing Land.

This system is just the next step in an ongoing effort by Pinterest to help improve the way brands can use their system.  This will, of course, translate into increased ads and sponsored Pins on the site and serve to bring in additional revenue to the company, while also providing greater abilities to marketers who want to use Pinterest.
