A new study has been released from the Content Marketing Institute, and it shows that many companies are becoming more aware of the importance of having high quality content on their websites. Last year, the report found that only nearly half (49%) of brands did not yet have a content marketing strategy. This year, however, that number dropped to just 14%.
This rapid development shows just how essential content marketing has become, and is expected to continue to be long into the future.
In addition to simply asking companies whether or not they have a strategy in place, they also talked about what types of content they are creating. Over the past year, the type of content that has the biggest growth is inforgraphics. They are used by 62% of surveyed companies, which is up from under half last year.
This is undoubtedly because of all the evidence that shows that infographics are one of the most effective ways to get your message out there. These visual gems get shared much more frequently and enjoyed by many people. The fact is, most people like being able to consume the data in both a visual way as well as with the written word.
Of course, video and written text have also continued to grow over the past year. It is expected that all of these mediums will continue to be used more and more in the future.
All this, then, begs the question about whether or not you are using these marketing strategies to promote your business. Content marketing, which includes text, pictures, video, infographics and much more is a proven way to drive traffic to your site long term. If you aren’t already working with a well defined strategy, this should be done as soon as possible.
