Glispa is a Berlin based mobile ad tech firm that has really been expanding through acquisition over the past two years. Over this period, they have bought out five companies, including their latest acquisition, JustAd. JustAd makes playable ads and has been growing in popularity recently, which likely lead to them being the target of this buyout.
JustAd is based in Tel Aviv and created a new platform that would allow both game develoeprs and app makers to easily create playable ads (ads that are essentially mini-games). This is a type of ad that is growing in popularity due to the fact that it does a great job of drawing users in.
The price that was paid for the acquisition has not been released at this time.
The CEO of Glispa commented on the acquisition, “JustAd is another product that brands and agencies can use to increase revenue and improve user experience. We were looking in the creative technology space, and JustAd had the team and the technology.”
Yariv Erel, who is the cofounder and CEO of JustAd talked about being bought out and said, “I would like to thank all of our loyal customers that are working with us for such a long time. We are extremely excited to join the great team at Glispa, with significantly more resources than we had until now. This deal will allow us to take our platform to a whole new level, with much more innovation in it.”
JustAd’s 10 employees will join the 260 employees of Glispa. As of now, it appears that the JustAd team will remain in place at their Tel Aviv offices.
