For affiliate marketers, nothing is more important than being able to be paid in an easy and reliable way by the networks you promote for. Without the ability to be confident that you’ll be getting compensated as agreed for your efforts, it is difficult to build a strong business with reliable income. With that in mind, Tipalti has completed a study titled, “Global Affiliate Networks Payment Satisfaction Survey 2015.” Tipalti is a provider of global payments management platforms and widely seen as a leader in this industry.
In addition to being a valuable study to read for affiliate marketers themselves, this is extremely helpful for affiliate network managers, who must ensure they are keeping the marketers happy to retain their loyalty.
What is Important?
The following are some of the most important pieces of information that can be found within the survey:
- 5% of affiliates report that being paid on time is very important to them.
- 5% of affiliates also report that having the ability to verify their payment status online is essential.
- 1% said that having an automatic notification is critical to their satisfaction.
- 6% said they appreciate having a ‘broad choice’ of payment methods
- 1% reported that they find it important to be able to get paid as soon as a set threshold is met.
- Interestingly, only 65% reported that having consistent payment issues would cause a significant frustration that may cause them to drop out of a specific network or program.
- Being paid in the local currency is important to 66% of global affiliates.
- 20% of non-US affiliates report that payment operations need improvement, while only 9% of US affiliates report this.
Chen Amit, CEO and co-founder of Tipalti said of this report, “Affiliate networks need to consider the influence their global affiliate partners have on their ongoing business success and how their commission payments processes are impacting their ability to recruit and retain the best affiliate marketers. Programs that employ operational best-payment practices, such as improving affiliate on-boarding, offering affiliates a secure portal to check their payment status 24/7, immediately notifying affiliates about payment progress or issues, and providing a range of payment methods and currency choices, will ultimately achieve greater network success and stability.”
The study is one of the most in depth that has ever been done on this topic. It was completed in June and July of 2015 and asked over 250 people to respond to the survey. The affiliates varied greatly including those who earned less than $10,000 per year and those who made over $200,000.
