Google AdWords Launching Multiple New Multi-Screen Formats

One of the biggest hassles of using AdWords is the fact that you had to create specific ads for each size, unless you wanted to use generic text ads.  This was made even more difficult by the fact that you had to come up with unique ads for different screen types, such as PC, tablet and smart phone.  Google has recently announced some upcoming improvements that will allow marketers to create high quality, engaging ads that will look great on all screen types.

They will be using the HTML5 programming language to allow marketers to import specific items, such as a logo or catch phrase, and then they can easily create ads for any environment.  They even have a new feature that will allow flash based ads to be backed up as HTML5 ads, which means they will display properly on mobile devices that don’t support Flash (iPhones).

Another big ad type that they are pushing out is the TrueView video ads.  These ads will only display to viewers if and when they click to view the ad.  This means that you will only be paying for video impressions that users actually see.  This can help to not only save money, but also to get better results from your ads.

Along with the new mobile anchor ads, which stay put at the bottom of an app or mobile website, these changes by Google are clearly made to help take their advertising platforms well into the future.
