Vapor Group, Inc. is a major designer, developer and manufacturer of vaporizers and e-cigarettes in the United States. In an effort to improve their online marketing, they have just completed the purchase of VGR Media, Inc, which is a full service interactive advertising agency. While this is certainly an unorthodox way of improving their online sales efforts, it may end up being successful.
Essentially what Vapor Group is going to do is have VGR Media run as a wholly owned subsidiary, which will continue to operate as an interactive ad agency. They will work with any non-competitive clients to provide them with the high quality digital advertising services they need. Of course, they will now also be promoting the e-cigarettes and vaporizers for the parent company.
When asked about the purchase, President and CEO of Vapor Group, Dror Svorai, said “…we acquired VGR Media, Inc. which has a staff with a core competency in interactive advertising and marketing. This acquisition will enable us to not only further our online marketing results, but to derive income and profit from the online sales and marketing of non-competitive consumer goods and services. Moreover, this acquisition will help us gain valuable insight into online consumer sales behavior and trends that can only help us in the future.”
Any marketers who are currently working with VGR Media should see little, if any change in the services they are being provided. For the foreseeable future, VGR Media will continue to run with the same management and operations teams as they have since they were founded last year.
