Zenith’s Advertising Expenditure Forecasts report has been released, and they are predicting that the Asia Pacific region will be experiencing huge growth in ad spend over the next several years. The APAC region will account for 33.8% of the global growth in ad expenses between now and 2020.
In addition, 43% of all new money being spent on advertising from 2017 – 2020 is expected to come from this region. That is $32.1 billion in total growth, assuming the predictions are correct.
This region is led by China, which is the largest market at 22% of the growth. India has 5%, Indonesia 4%, Japan 3%, and the Philippines at 3%. As more and more people in the region are becoming connected, the opportunities for advertisers are only going to expand.
Currently North America is the largest spender when it comes to advertising, but they are losing their lead. The report predicts that 27% of the growth will come from North America. The global percentage of ad spend coming from North America during this time will drop from 37.1% to 36%.
Zenith’s head of forecasting and director of global intelligence said, “Dynamic markets in the Asia Pacific are leading the way in global ad spend growth, growing at 5% to 6% per year. By the middle of the next decade it will be the biggest advertising region in the world.”
